I switched the server off this morning, opened it up and found a ton of dust in there. Cleaned it out and the website seems a bit faster for it now. Does it seem faster to anyone else or just me?

I sent her a pm but I guess she hasn't seen it yet.
Basically the gallery used to be linked to the old forum. If you were a forum member you were a gallery member.
Since we don't use the old forum anymore, she's no longer registered on the gallery.
Her photo's are still there but won't show up cos they don't belong to anyone so if she registers on the gallery I can diddle with the database and hopefully give her ownership of her photos again and then they'll show up.

I had a thought today. Don't happen often does it hehe. I've tried everything I can bloody think of the get the server running faster, tweaking the server software to maximise the speed. It just couldn't get any faster as the software and settings are fine. The servers cpu runs at 3.2ghz and I was thinking, maybe it's just getting too hot. I've adjusted the settings a bit so the cpu now runs at 2.6ghz. Seems a fair bit faster to me. Testing the home page on some benchmark web sites I got it to load in, in 1.3 seconds which ain't too bad considering it was anywhere up to 6-8 seconds before. Let's hope it stays like that!

Okies. cpu=computer brain cpu run fast speed = more heat more heat = slow computer (computer no like hot) me make cpu run slower slower cpu = less heat less heat = computer run faster faster computer = faster website  |
