I've found a way of adding Youtube videos to the forum without having to enable html code in the forum which is a huge security risk.

I also added a youtube icon in the 'Post Message' editor for an easy way to add a video.

How to add a video:

When you find a vid on youtube that you wanna put on here copy the part of the vids web address after the = (equals sign).

An example of what you'll see in the browsers address bar when viewing video:
Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHC_Qyov2Xc

The bit you want to copy with your mouse:
Code:
NHC_Qyov2Xc

Paste the code into the forums editor and hightlight it with the mouse.
Click on the Youtube button to wrap the youtube tags around it.

Important: Make sure the code and youtube tags are all on the same line otherwise it won't work.

Just having a practice with this. Found this bit of footage of our rideout last year.

Did it work?

No. I've found that when you click on the youtube button it creates returns (as in you pressed the return key to go to the next line. Edit you post and make sure all the youtube tags and the code bit are on the same line with no spaces.

That seems to have sorted it. I can see both vids now.

Just an update to this sticky thread.

You no longer need to do any of the above to show a youtube video on here. Just go to youtube.com and play the vid you want. Copy the whole web address from the address bar (starts with http:) then paste it into your post on here. The video should show up on here after you've posted it.
