Hi

I am looking at a scoot that I am told is a VNA1T, I think it maybe a british model, 152L2, after much searching on the frame I found this number E138210. This number was behind the left inside main body, not where it should be outside under where the panel would be.

Finding this number in this strange place makes me now think it is spanish. It is registered in the UK as a 1961 150.

Could you please help me identify what this is.

Thank you.

I think that E number is a part number. Older Vespa's had their frame numbers in places other than under the right side panel. Look at this page to see which place yours should be in.

Hi mate

Thanks for the quick reply, not so sure about the part number thing though. As I can actually see the faint etching of something maybe a number or not, where it should be, but like I say it is rubbed out. But then randomly this E138210 number is clear as day on the underside, inside of the frame, on the left hand side, where the back wheel would be. No idea why it is there, it was only by fluke that I noticed it there. I have never seen any numbers on any vespa in that area. The only reason I got to see it, was that I took the back wheel off.

Scoot has an italian dealer badge on it, but I think this guy has got some dodgy asian frame and gone to a bit of trouble to make it look legit. I have been looking on the web and cant find anything about serial numbers beginning with E prefix's,

Would really appreciate if someone could lend some light on this.

Real strange one this. It has a V5 by the way, so the dvla gave it an age related plate. But I think this guy who imported it, pulled a fast one on them. Wouldnt be the first not legit bike, with a V5 and age related plate, made out to be original, but not. If you get my drift.
