I'd be lying if i said that i dont like a challenge... smiles Worz, you know that little exhaust bolt problem you had? Well the one off the new bike i've just bought has also sheared. I knew it was going to, as i needed a tourque wrench to move it - the exhaust was probably the original so the bolt hadnt been out since it was new!

The only (slightly) good point is that there is about 4mm protruding from the end. I've just ordered some bolt extractors, so if you hear a blood curdling scream in the next few days its me!  crazy

Any tips Worz as i 'hit' it with a vengence?

I don't envy you that one mate. You have to be real careful with bolt extractors. As you screw that thing in, the metal bolt can open up and crack the ali around it with the force. If you're determined to try them. Heat the crap out of the ali around the bolt before you do.

When it happened to me, I took the engine out and rear hub off so I could get a nice straight go at it with the drill. Started off on 2.5mm drill bit, went to 6, then 10. The rest I had to chisel out with a small screwdriver and hammer. It was like it was welded together. 'Orrible! Two days and a lot of patience it took me.

I am truly feeling for you.
Last time it happened to me I managed to get it drilled out by an industrial steelworking place they had a drill with settings that stopped them from wrippeng into the engine cases.

Engine out, drilled the f***er bolt out, gave it a bit of 'persuasion' and out it came. Engine back in, exhaust on. Nearly there...and the top of the rear shock rubber snapped - needed a new shock anyway. New heavy duty shock and rubber top ordered... happy though. Dont anyone ask me to drill another though, pain in the arse. Greased the new one so shoulnt seize again!  crazy kicking xyxthumbs

Now you understand the fun I had when my exhaust bolt snapped. When I did mine, the 2.5mm drillbit I started with snapped off in the bolt lol. That was fun getting that out.
