Hi does anyone know what kit is the best between the Malossi and the Polini, or if there is any difference at all?

I'm planning to put a kit into my PX125, but wasn't sure if there was much difference between the 2 kits?

Thanks.

Polini is better as a pure bolt-on kit. To get the best out of a Malossi, the engine cases have to be machined to match the port transfers to the ports on the barrel.

Worzel,

does that mea i can just have the Polini fitted straight away, whereas the Malossi will require a bit more work?

You can fit either one as just a straight bolt-on kit. You'll get more power from the Polini like that.

If you had your engine machined, the Malossi would have more power.

Either one will do really but personally I think the Polini is best if you want to keep the rest of your engine standard.

Hi Mate,
I think your best bet is the polini 172 for the simple straight bolt on option.
I had one installed last year and it makes a great difference to pickup and top end on a standard PX125 engine.
Just bear in mind the mix when installed I am currenlt running with an additional 1% mix.
