Hello all!  Just found this forum by browsing around, hopefully some of you can help me...

I am potentially buying a 2003 LML Star 125, the PX copy.  I've never owned a scooter, I've only ever ridden motocross before- I'm booked in for my CBT Thursday next week, gives you an idea as to my experience!

I was wondering if there is anything that I should look out for particularly when I go to view this scoot, any known problems, niggles, etc?  Does anyone own one, and have some feedback as how reliable it is, or isn't?

Any help is appreciated!

Hello.
I have just bought my LML Star DLX,and only done around 50 miles on it.
My first impressions are,its slow, but im comparing it to my old T5 which would hit 70mph flat out.
The Star has had a basic de-restriction kit,(at extra cost)which was upjetting the carb, change of filters, and a PX exhaust to replace the standard LML one.
As i said, its only got 50 miles on the clock,so is nowhere near run in yet (i am advised to run in for aprox 500 miles) and i can only find 1 fault, which may only be on my scoot, but its really annoying.
Its the fuel gauge, which is reading empty,i have visually checked the tank and guess its at least half full, and with it having a 9 litre tank,im hoping to get well over 150 miles from a full tank,so im slightly worried about economy now.
Apart from that, the scoot is fine, and comes with a 12 month warrenty. As i said its only got 50 miles under its belt,as i used it for work a few times, and the odd hour for a run out.
I am optimistic and think (HOPE)its going to be a good workhorse, and it will be taking me to a few rallies,as ive been scooterless for a few years, and really missed the buzz.
As for the CBT dont worry, its not a pass or fail thing, just a case of you showing the instructor you can safely ride the scoot, and not be a hazard to yourself,or other people around you. Some people may take longer than others to get used to their own machines, but thats all you will  be doing,in a car park area first around cones to get used to slow riding and turning, then out on the road following the instructors directions.
So,i hope i have helped in some way, good luck, and stay in touch,as we own the same scoot, and can share experiences.

Hello mate,
Just read your message, I've had my LML for around 14 months now.
I agree - they are very slow, so I spoke to Worzel, he said change the original exhaust to a Simonini Exhaust
and take out the air filter under the seat (looked like the place you put the Conditioner in the Washing Machine)
and the petrol gauge does move, I filled up when I went to Brighton (and coming home, got up to 55 mph down the motorway, realised halfway down that im not allowed down there - had my L plates on, but it was a quick way home) the needle was moving up and down.
Also the Electric Starter works when it feels like it and the Horn aswell! So going to upgrade the Engine to a Polini 177 Kit. Took my CBT test on it in April and it was fine.

One more thing, do you think the suspensions stiff on it (so i'm going to change them too!)

Hi I have an LML, only for a couple om months, but I am riding from London to hertfordshire. In comparrison to a P150X I find the clutch a bit sluggish, but have got used to it. It obviously doesnt have quite as much power. It is reliable so far. The electric start doesnt show any problems, and to my utter happiness I discovered the exhaust bolt is already well oiled. I have to say I am well happy.

I've heard they may make a 250cc version. I'm getting one if they do.

I remember hearing a rumour about a 250 version, although cant find no info on it.
If they want to compete with Piaggio and the Gt's its a route they will have to take.  scoot
