Hi everybody,
We're taking a trip on Vespa PX 125cc through Europe and West Africa. 7000km through 9 countries during 6 months. We would need a few advices concerning the maintenance of the machines...What are the weaknesses of the PX on the long distances? What are the parts & tools to take with us? Has anybody out there done that trip before?

I admire your guts mate in under taking such a journey, but why a 125? A P200 has much more power than the 125 and i would imagine that would be handy in such a momentous journey. Plenty of spare tyres and inurtubes and plenty of 2 stroke!

How are you looking for sponsors? Could be interested if ya let us have some more details.

Thanks Titch,
PX200 would have been more appropriate, I know. But I haven't got a full driving licence yet and not much money...so we'll stick to the 125cc. For the sponsors we contact companies and propose them to advertise  them on our scooters (stickers) for the duration of the trip and create a link to their website on ours ( 1 in French, 1 in English). We also commit ourselves to mention their company/organisation in any media coverage of the project. We're not asking for money but for a donation in products, which they distribute and which would be more than useful to us on the road (vespa parts, tools, camping equipment, maps, guides...). But any kind of support would be appreciated. What did you have in mind?
