Sing in German, soccer fans urgedEnglish football fans are being encouraged to learn the German versions of well-known football chants ahead of this year's World Cup to avoid offending there hosts.
The month-long tournament - which starts in just over five weeks' time - will take place throughout Germany.
Around 100,000 England fans are expected to be in Germany during the championship and up to 40,000 in and around each stadium when England play.
As part of its package of information and travel tips, the Foreign Office is providing German translations of the best-known chants.
They will appear on the FCO-affiliated website You are not allowed to view links.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "There will be a translation of English football songs into German.
"Of course, people will able to make up their own minds.
"The purpose is that those football fans who wish to learn the English songs in German to sing at the World Cup can do so and the Foreign Office will help them do that."
The Foreign Office also launched a fold-out credit card-sized information pack today which contains tips for fans and is headed "Avoiding Penalties".
It risked accusations of fuelling drunken behaviour by including German translations for "Can I have a beer please?", "Can I have another beer please?" and "May I pitch my tent in your back garden?"( Copied from Aol News. )
