I can't do it.

Went for MOT today. Failed big time. Frame is fecked. The spot welds have popped where the box section of the frame is joined to the legshields/floorboards. That's what caused the crack in the right hand side of the box section. I have to get another frame with a V5 Cry Cry Cry

Cheers for the thought, Shrimper. I looked at Ebay as soon as I got got home today. It was a bit far, but I'd be willing to travel it to get the scoot back on the road. Thing is, with that frame, is the rot that's just above the point where the engine bolt goes through. I couldn't trust that. Plus, I'm thinking that as I have to get another frame anyway, I may as well go for a good frame. Even looked at brand new, old stock PX200 EFL frames. May get one of those at £360 squids each.. Ouch!

A normal blowtorch weld would have to burn through one skin in order to bond the two skins together. I'm not keen on that idea.

So the only option for fixing it would be someone that can spot weld with the proper tools. I don't know of anywhere that can do it. I would get it done though if it was just that, but there's still that crack that developed on the right side of the box section. I'd rather get another frame where I know it's going to be safe.
