Hi all, on saturday the 18th of June 2011 , 8 brave, mad fools are planning to ride scooters 1664 miles accross Great Britain and raise money for charity!! So far, we have a total of 8 riders signed up to attempt this crazy ride. Do you think you'd be interested in joining us?

The event is estimated to take around 11-12 days in total, this allows for a days travel to Scotland, either by train, coach or plane (scooters will be transported either by luton or lorry depending on numbers), one rest day, and ...a 8-9 day ride accross the country to sunny ashford.

Details draughted so far are as follows:
18th june, travel to John O'Groats via plane/train or coach (details to follow)
19th June, rest from journey and prepare for ride, check scooters over etc.

20th June,
Day 1 of ride: Ceromoney and photos for papers etc before we set off.
John O'Groats to Ballachulish - 198 miles, taking in Loch ness, the great Glen and Ben Nevis.

Day 2: Ballachulish to Gretna Green - 214 miles, taking in Glencoe, Rannoch Moor, Duke's Pass and Mennock Pass.

Day 3: Gretna Green to Tan Hill - 193 miles, taking in The Lake District with 4 passes, Scafell Pike, Hartside Pass, North Pennines and Tan Hill.

Day 4: Tan Hill to Bala - 224 miles, taking in Buttertubs Pass, Yorkshire Dales, Ribble Head, Trough of Bowland, Conwy, Llanberis Pass, Snowdon, Betws-y-Coed.

Day 5: Bala to Weston-Super-Mare - 226 miles, taking in Lake Vyrnwy, Cirth Merrir, Gospel Pass and the Forest of Dean.

Day 6: Weston-Super-Mare to Lands End - 212 miles, taking in The Lambretta Museum and Exmoor.

Day 7: Lands End to Dorchester - 181 miles, taking in Lands End, Dartmoor and Lyme Regis.

Day 8: Dorchester to Ashford - 182 miles, taking in the New Forest.

Days 1,2,7 and 8 are relatively easy. days 3, 4, 5 and 6 are harder!!!! We are intending to take a transit van along with a driver and mate which will carry the camping equipment, spares etc.

This is a very rough guide and final details have yet to be worked out. camping stops, food and petrol stops will all be worked into the overall ride and details will be available soon.

SO.......... does anyone out there think theyd like to join us? we need a final number count before details can be completed with precision!!!!

Message me for further details if you are interested. Please pass this invite on to fellow scooterists. we are intending in the next few days to e-mail clubs all accross the country so they meet up and ride with us along the way!!!!!!!!! we intend to contact the TV and the local parers up and down the country too!!!

I'll do it, but I ain't going from John O Groats. I'll go meet them at Peterborough or wherever. Going from there to Lands End is hard enough without riding to the top of Scotland first. If I did that, I'd end up riding further than them.
